Now home after four days in Malaysia, I would say that Singapore as a foodie paradise is pure exaggeration. The food in Malaysia is good, cheap and totally satisfying.
I must say that Malacca leaves the fondest memories of succulent chicken. Eaten with rice balls dipped in chilli, the experience is pure heaven. The oyster omelette is less greasy and packs more taste than the ones we find in Singapore and the bak kut teh is simply savoury. Coming to think about it, I can hardly name any food place or food that is on par with the food over the causeway.
Naturally, good food is found only when you know where to find it and I am sincerely grateful to Elgina's relatives for driving us around and bringing us to such great food places. Perhaps the less congested atmosphere and the lesser need to be constantly on alert also allowed me to enjoy the place better. KL roads are a nightmare.
I lugged home 8 boxes of pineapple tarts. I let out a horrified gasp that lurched a few custom officers out of their seats and to my rescue when the scanning machine nearly toppled over my bag of pineapple tarts. Hey, they're precious ok? You wouldn't be able to find such good ones in Singapore.
Oooo, my precioussss pineapple tarts.
I really enjoyed myself this trip, surpassing my expectations. I guess it's also the people that made things really fun. Go PW group! :)
