Haix, my dear granddaughter gg hk on mon! Wish her a goood trip! I didn't really expect Cathay to have such weird timings though (checking in at 6:30am is just pok) since it's supposed to be quite an ok airline and only the cheapo airlines fly at awkward timings to save costs. Of coz, Cathay still can't beat my bro who had to check in at 4:30am to fly United Airlines to US. Lol, my poor dad reached his office at 6 am since there was no point coming home, our house being at the other end of Spore.
This week was really accomplished since I managed to meet up with many many pple! I shall miss Yu Jin when she goes to US to study! But of course, we all have our own paths to follow in life. =)
I went for the Tanjong Pagar fiesta at Orchard yday, which had security that resembled airport scanners, just because a certain someone was coming. Lol, talk about effort. Anyway, there was some cosplay competition and I just can't help but feel these pple look soooo weird. One contestant was asked why she like cosplay and she said that it allowed her to be someone she liked. To me, fantasy will always be appealing precisely coz it's not reality and maybe sometimes we shldn't try so hard to cross that line because it could spoil fantasy (not to mention attract a lot of weird looks from strangers). Yu Jin was telling me about how this Harry Potter fan broke down when Harry kissed Cho Chang onscreen and she kept crying so hard during the premiere that she cldn't go ask Radcliffe for his autograph. My gosh, this fan is not even married to Harry Potter! Gdness, and she's behaving like some betrayed wife. Maybe next time if Radcliffe gets married, she'll prolly have a mental breakdown :P
The salsa competition was quite ok and in a sense the results were quite expected. I particularly enjoyed the performance by KC and Grace's group because they had BOTH techniques AND performance style. To put up a good show, you can't just be flashy onstage but with no substance to back u up. You might look pro to the untrained eye but to those in the know, you're just a mere wannabe.
And speaking of which, if you want a come up with a team that is really good, I think you have to exhibit some sense of commitment and responsibility. If you want pple to treat you seriously, treat others seriously too. While yours being late for an hour could only be wasting one hour of your time, if ten pple r waiting for you, you just wasted ten hours of everybody's time. The leader should always be earlier than the participants-it's called basic respect. Others achieve what they have because they have discipline while others just falter and stumble along because they seem like they're wondering aimlessly around.
